登壇したジョブズは感度問題は他社のスマートフォンでも発生すること、実際に影響を受けたユーザーは非常に少ないこと、3GSと比較して切断率はほとんど変わっていない(1%に及ばないほど悪化している) ことを述べたのち、「それでもすべてのユーザーに満足してほしいと願っている」ため、感度問題を改善できるケースの配布を決断したと語っています。

Appleが、July 16 Press Conferenceを開催し、iPhone 4はこれまでに300万台販売され、これまでのスマートフォンの中で顧客満足度が１番高いと説明しました

Apple started off today’s press conference with a little bit of bragging: they moved over 3,000,000 iPhone 4’s in three weeks. It took the original iPhone two and a half financial quarters to hit that sort of sales numbers. However, those numbers are on the same sort of blockbuster level that the iPhone 3G and even 3GS experienced in their early days.
In response to the uproar over spotty reception for new iPhone 4, Apple CEO Steve Jobs spoke Friday to defend the company’s handling of the matter.
“The public will be more ‘antenna-aware’: that’s the good thing to come out of this. They’ll walk into an AT&T store and say ‘lemme see that pink phone and what kind of antenna does it have?’ That hasn’t happened since we bragged about our newest rabbit-ears [antenna] for our old TV sets.” – Spencer Webb, president of AntennaSys, an antenna design and consulting firm, on the iPhone 4 antenna imbroglio.
Well, it looks as if Paul the Octopus was correct during our guess of what Apple would announce at the iPhone 4 press conference. Apple’s big fix – free bumpers for all.

The iPhone 4 is amazing, according to reviews and customer surveys. The media stirred up a huge storm about the supposed signal-dropping error with the antenna. Steve Jobs took the stage today, to try and fix the mess. His appearance comes after the general dissatisfaction with Apple’s previous response to the issue
ということで、流石ジョブズ氏、この会見の結果、「妥当な対応」っていうご意見で一致されているようです。
ちなみに対応する期間は９月３０日までなので、とにかく今からiPhone4ユーザの方は全員アップルストアに行って、バンパー買ってキャッシュバック狙うのが良いと思われ・・・・
